Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run benefits Special Olympics
Sheriff John Newhart served as the Chair for the 2008 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. More than 3,000 officers across the Commonwealth raised nearly $790,000 dollars for the 2008 summer games. Since its inception 23 years ago, the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run has raised more than $10 million for Special Olympics in Virginia.
